Born in Duncan, B.C., acclaimed indie singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco is known for his goofy stage demeanour and his tongue-in-cheek songwriting.
A definite love him or hate him kind of guy, the 25-year-old DeMarco has been showing his more sensitive with his two most recent albums, 2014’s Salad Days, which earned him much praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, and its “companion album” Another One, released this year.
The Vancouver Sun’s Francois Marchand recently caught up with DeMarco to talk about his origins, influences, guitar tones, Halloween, his love of eBay and The Simpsons, and why he doesn’t drink before appearing on stage any more.
