Dan Bejar2Destroyer is the indie rock project of Vancouver singer-songwriter Dan Bejar, who is also known as a member of The New Pornographers. After garnering widespread critical acclaim in 2011 with album Kaputt, Destroyer returns four years later with Poison Season, a dark, cinematic album that borrows heavily from ’70s and ’80s era Bowie, Reed and Springsteen. In this Unedited conversation, Bejar joins Francois Marchand in the studio for a conversation about the making of Poison Season, New York City’s influence on the album, and the lure of film noir and classic song Mack The Knife.
