Pamela Fayerman has been the Vancouver Sun’s Health Issues reporter for 19 years. In addition to stories in print and online, she writes a blog called Medicine Matters.
She has been awarded numerous awards and fellowships, including those from the New York Times Foundation, Canadian Medical Association, National Institutes of Health (USA), Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Knight Science Journalism, Saskatchewan Press Club, Jack Webster Foundation and the Canadian Bar Association.
She earned a journalism degree at Ryerson and completed courses and programs at Queen’s University Law School, Columbia University, Mount Sinai Medical Centre, M.I.T. and Dartmouth College.
Ms. Fayerman has twice been awarded health journalism grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She’s a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists and the Canadian Science Writers Association.
